Twelve days through Kerala and Karnataka. A journey to the heart of Indian heritage and holistic wellness, ending in deep restoration at an award-winning Ayurvedic sanctuary.
The Overview
This isn't just any trip. It is your wellness journey to a personal reset. Start breathing and let go. From the rhythmic pulse of a backwater houseboat to the misty embrace of spice-scented mountains, every day is designed as a sanctuary for the senses.
You don't have to plan anything. Just be open to exploration and to unforgettable encounters: palm-fringed beaches, lagoons crossed on a houseboat, hikes through lush misty mountains, walks through spice gardens, close moments with elephants, Ayurvedic massages, Kerala's cultural cuisine, and the slow art of doing nothing at all.
We end the twelve days at an award-winning Ayurvedic sanctuary in Karnataka, where the journey turns inward. Personalized consultations, therapeutic oils, organic farm-to-table meals, and the quiet you have probably been looking for.
Phase one (8 days) is the cultural soft landing through Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Fort Kochi, Thekkady, Kumarakom, Alleppey, Mahabalipuram, Pondicherry.
Phase two (4 days) is the deep unwind. The Karnataka Ayurvedic sanctuary. Doctor's consultations, two daily treatments, daily yoga and pranayama, and Ayurvedic cuisine for every meal.
The Itinerary
Heritage & Breath
Land on the historic Malabar coast and feel the synergy of a place where people from many ethnicities and religions have co-existed peacefully for centuries. We begin with gentle sunset walks by the Chinese Fishing Nets and slow-paced heritage tours. Your time to decompress and find your rhythm.
Spice Trails & Jungle Paths
Ascend into the spice-scented hills of Periyar. Guided spice garden walks with the aroma of cardamom, pepper, cinnamon, and coffee. Find your beat with traditional Kathakali dance and Kalaripatyu martial arts.
Wildlife and Forest Bathing
Boat ride across Periyar Lake, a rejuvenating forest bath guided by a local, and time with the native elephants. Feed them bananas. Stand under their trunk shower. Stay for the magic.
Lake Vembanad
Check into a luxury sanctuary on the banks of Lake Vembanad. Cooking demo and Kerala-cuisine lunch at a family-run farmhouse. End the day with a village walk and encounters with local folks, birds, flora, and fauna.
Practicing the Art of Doing Nothing
A backwater houseboat. Lunch on board. The only soundtrack is water against the shore. This is where the rest you've been postponing actually happens.
UNESCO World Heritage Coast
A day of sun and salt exploring a coastal town renowned for 7th-century Pallava rock-cut architecture, monolithic rathas, and cave temples.
The French Quarter & Auroville
A transition to the City of Dawn. The meditative silence of Auroville and the colorful, cobblestone streets of the French Quarter. The silent meditation at Matrimandir. The bridge between the physical beauty of Kerala and the internal work to come.
Phase Two Begins
Domestic transfer to the wellness sanctuary. Welcome ritual, doctor's consultation, settle in.
Karnataka
Daily yoga and pranayama at sunrise. Two Ayurvedic treatments per day at the Panchakarma center. Herbal formulations, lifestyle guidance, and Ayurvedic cooking class. All meals farm-to-table, sattvic, home-cooked.
Karnataka
Temple visit at dawn. Medicinal herb garden tour and a deep look at how the plants we pass become the treatments we receive. Continued daily treatments and yoga.
Karnataka
Cultural activities, closing ceremony, and a quiet evening together to mark the journey. Your final consultation. Time to set the rhythm you carry home.
